The Malaysian Palm Oil Wildlife Conservation Fund (MPOWCF) is a distraction from the real issue - Malaysia has cleared and is still clearing forests for oil palm plantations and displacing indigenous people and killing biodiveristy in the process.

They distort the truth by announcing that no primary forest is cleared for palm oil while they clear secondary forests. Secondary forests are home to many of the last surviving populations of orangutans.

They claim that palm oil plantations support much biodiversity while scientific studies have shown that 80-100% of rainforest animals cannot survive in palm oil plantations.

If the American Palm Oil Council works to educate the American public about the benefits of palm oil, they are part of the lie.
