More orangutans in danger: Malaysian palm oil giant poised to ‘go big’ in Indonesian Borneo
IJM Plantations Bhd (IJMP) has transformed into one of the fastest growing oil palm plantation companies in Malaysia with strategic oil palm-related investments in Indonesia and India. Within a short span of two years, the group doubled its plantation hectarage to about 60,000ha and will be on the lookout for suitable land bank for oil palm cultivation, particularly in East Kalimantan, Indonesia.

Do you think this guy cares at all that his company is destroying the rainforest and killing orangutans so consumers can have cheap shampoo? I doubt it. How do you suppose he would feel if someone bulldozed his house and burned it down with him in it? His road to fortune is smeared with orangutan blood…..

Actually, he doesn’t look at all concerned or caring! It is ashame to say it but there are lots of people who will gladly sell their soul to satisfy their greed and that is what this whole palm oil situation boils down to in one word: GREED! It’s greedy corporations with their greedy CEO’s and boards supported by greedy politicians who will look the other way if they can make a buck off of doing so! When you consider what mankind is willing to do to it’s fellow human beings in the name of GREED then you/we should not be at all surprised at what is happening to the rain forest and the orangutans…..after all…..they’re just “animals” standing in the way of profit! Corporations supported by the politicians they’ve bought and paid for, run the world and so there is little if any hope for the orangutans or the rain forest! When it comes down to a dollar or an orangutan….the orangutan’s will lose……ALWAYS! The current state of the world and mankinds inhumanity for the sake of profit is truly a sad and dire situation!
