Illegal logging is a plea, and should be fought against with more vigour from everybody, because it is the lungs of the Earth that are being illegaly destroyed (not that legal logging is much better sometimes...).
Anyway, I discovered recently that the European Union had a loophole in its legislature that allowed for illegally logged trees to enter EU territory! This is just unnaceptable!!
The EU should meet in July and decide whether or not to close that legal loophole. Unfortunately, lobbying in favor of illegal logging is very strong, and that's why Greenpeace launched a petition to make pressure on the EU (from the environmental side!) to act in favour of our forests!
You can sign the petition at: http://www.greenpeace.org/international/campaigns/forests/eu-ban-illegal-timber
Thanks for helping Greenpeace saving the Earth!!
