HISTORY
Cha Cha was taken to the Nyaru Menteng Rescue and Rehabilitation Center when she was 18 months old. She soon became one of the most social orangutans of Forest School 103; she loved to interact with her human caretakers and all of her orangutan classmates. She was, and remains, very attached to Lone.
LIFE ON ORANGUTAN ISLAND
The transition to island life is challenging for Cha Cha, she craves human attention so much that it causes Lone to question if she is ready for the change. But Cha Cha begins to take small steps toward independence. She forms an unlikely friendship with rough and tumble Daisy which leads to a lot of play and a little more confidence.
She has her fair share of ups and downs: She loses her pal Oyoy – the first orangutan on the island to die. And she has a potentially deadly encounter with a highly venomous coral snake. She also falls victim to Chen Chen’s temper and is beaten up by him. But she also has lots of fun, especially in the mud spa with Daisy.
