NEVER buy hearts of palm....They literally KILL the tree by lopping off the top for a palm heart. I would love to see a world so conscious of good ecology and respect for the fragility of our planet and ecosystem that such industry would be banned....and a creative substitute for employing native people ( maybe technology training and outsourcing....???) would be substituted.
