COP Rescues Orangutan Trapped in Roaring Rapids

Epic. This is about life or death.

Orangutans like water, but they don't know how to swim and they don't like to submerge themselves in it. This is for good reason, as there may be a snake or crocodile lurking silently....

COP's Ape Crusader team (mobile rescue unit) was out doing a survey in East Kalimantan (Borneo) when they came across an orangutan trapped in the swift water rapids of the Lesan River, just below what's known locally as the "Gorilla Waterfall". If the team had gotten there any later, they might have been too late and the orangutan might have been dead....
