Orangutan Graduation Video: Josh, Telaken & Friends Begin Their Wild Adventure!
At BOS Nyaru Menteng and Samboja Lestari, orphaned orangutans go to Forest School-- where they learn how to be orangutans! We do our best to create a realistic forest scenario so that when they grow up, they will be prepared for life in the wild! While it's not perfect, we are always striving to do our best for the orangutans... and their instincts take care of the rest!
When they are nearly full grown and have mastered the skills they are taught in Forest School, the orangutans move to river islands to begin the final phase of their journey back to the forest. On the islands, they live for several seasons in a semi-wild state... where their wild instincts kick in! Once they prove they are ready, they will be released into a safe area of forest deep in the heart of Borneo!
