Shout-Out to the Kids at Hopewell Ave Public School
We'd like to give a special shout-out to all our friends at Hopewell Avenue Public School in Ottawa, Canada.
Teacher Marion Shynal has been promoting orangutan conservation to her students for the past five years, and through her amazing efforts has been able to raise awareness of the plight facing orangutans among the entire school population.
Every year Hopewell has an event called "Earth Week" and Marion organizes a raffle with great prizes, like Orangutan Outreach t-shirts! Over the years the raffle has generated several thousand dollars for orangutan conservation. This year's Earth Week was a huge success. Everyone enjoyed watching Orangutan Island, which was playing on the big screen in the school gymnasium on Earth Day. Marion and her team had their biggest raffle yet! They raised (Canadian) $1025 for the BOS Nyaru Menteng Orangutan Release Program. We cannot thank Marion and the kids enough.
Hope you're all having an awesome Summer Break! 🙂 {:(|}
