BOS Foundation Covid-19 Update
Back in March (which feels like a lifetime ago, right?) we set up an emergency Covid-19 Fund to help the BOS Foundation get through this difficult period— and YOU stepped up big time! The campaign has been a huge success and we cannot thank you enough for your generous support. But unfortunately we're not out of the woods yet...
Both BOSF facilities remain closed to all non-essential personnel. The team continues to provide essential daily care for the 440+ orangutans, with limited exposure and special health protection measures in place for all staff.
Critical supplies of medicines, disinfectant, soap, face masks, gloves & other PPE, which are vital to control zoonotic disease transmission, are still difficult to source, as is the huge quantity of food needed to feed the orangutans. And prices continue to rise as demand grows.
We know that many people are facing financial difficulties in this difficult time, but if you are able to help, the orangutans being cared for by BOSF desperately need your support.
