How can you make a difference?

Increase Awareness

• Tell your friends and relatives about the plight of wild orangutans
• Share information, photos and posts on your personal social media
• Pitch a story to your local newspaper or hometown magazine
• Call in to local radio shows to talk about orangutans and rainforests
• Volunteer to read orangutan themed children’s books at local library or book store
• Offer orangutan and rainforest themed activities to local Girl Scout and Boy Scout groups

Educate Others

• Deliver a public lecture at a local library
• Join Animal or Environmental Clubs at your school to talk about orangutans

• Invite us to be a guest on your podcast! Contact us here
• Set up an information and activity table at a local event, library, or farmer’s market
• Educate with a video and photo presentation at schools and civic organizations
• Start a Palm Oil letter writing or postcard campaign and involve your friends

Fundraise for Orangutan Outreach

• Start a fundraising campaign at work or in your school. Have your team adopt an orangutan!
• Have a bake sale or art sale at school or work
• Put a donation jar on your desk at work with information about orangutans
• Ask your company if they provide matching donations
• Gather sponsors for a local walk, run, swim, bike ride, jump rope-a-thon
• Starting a crypto project? Donate the transaction fees to Orangutan Outreach. Learn more on our crypto page.
• Ask your Bunco group to donate the buy-in pot
• Have your D&D group adopt an orangutan!
• Hold a 50/50 raffle with a local group
• Hold a Bingo Night and donate a percentage of the buy-in
• Host a book club with an orangutan themed book and charge $5 per guest
• Host a movie night to watch Orangutan Jungle School or Green – “sell” tickets and refreshments
• Yoga instructors can “rent a mat” or host a yoga retreat
• Artists can create specialized pieces to sell or host a gallery night
• Create a Facebook fundraiser for your birthday, for M.O.M. or for International Orangutan Day
• Instead of birthday or holiday gifts, ask for donations to Orangutan Outreach in your name

Orangutan Outreach Giving Circle

We know that many of you want to DO EVEN MORE for our beloved orangutans. With that in mind, we have created a UNIQUE GROUP just for you! Are you ready to CONNECT with like-minded individuals? Would you like to SHARE IDEAS with other orangutan-lovers? Are you eager to TAKE ACTION in an enhanced way? Do you want to BUILD COMMUNITY?

If you answered YES to any of these questions, the newly created ORANGUTAN OUTREACH GIVING CIRCLE is the place for you! Our exciting new initiative is hosted on the Grapevine platform. Together we will learn, discuss, collaborate, and raise funds in order to have a sustainable, positive impact for orangutans.

We ask those who join our Giving Circle to:

• Engage in meaningful discussions with Group Members
• Help raise awareness/educate others about orangutans
• Commit to active participation in fundraising efforts
• Provide a $25 quarterly donation via the Grapevine platform

On the Grapevine platform, you will see photo and video posts and you will learn about all the programs and projects supported by Orangutan Outreach. However, this is not just more social media. This is a social movement! You won’t just smile at sweet photos. You will be moved by them as we dive deeper into the issues. Expect to be motivated and inspired!
