Video: The Power of Canal Blocking

In the peat swamp forests of Borneo, if the peat dries up, the likelihood of fires increases dramatically. In order to keep the forests wet, teams of technicians build dams in canals that were dug out in years past (to extract timber). Damming the canals saves the forests and save orangutans!
