Video: BOS Foundation’s 47th Orangutan Release from Nyaru Menteng
THIS is what we work for! Five more orangutans have returned to the forest where they belong! Congratulations to Borneo Orangutan Survival (BOS) Foundation on another successful release, and cheers to everyone involved! Orangutan Outreach wishes a world of wonderful to these special orangutans as they return to life in the forest. THANK YOU to our supporters for your donations that help fund rescues, rehabilitation, and releases.
After completing many years of rehabilitation at the BOS Nyaru Menteng care center, Himba, Semeru, Farida, Lykke, and Nett (also known as Otong), are back in the forest where they belong. Read more about them here.
A few words from BOS Foundation: “A journey years in the making has reached its most important chapter. Himba, Semeru, Farida, Lykke, and Nett (also known as Otong), have successfully returned to the wild forests of Bukit Baka Bukit Raya National Park after years of rehabilitation at Nyaru Menteng.
As the cage doors opened, they took their first steps into a new chapter among the trees. A chapter filled with freedom, opportunity, and the forest they can once again call home.
This achievement comes through the close collaboration of the Ministry of Forestry, Directorate General of Natural Resources and Ecosystem Conservation, BKSDA Central Kalimantan, and Bukit Baka Bukit Raya National Park.
This is what every rehabilitation journey hopes to achieve.”
